Reflection Sciences, based in Saint Paul, MN, and founded in 2014 raised $775,000 in angel funding from undisclosed investors on December 3.

The educational software provides an executive function skills training platform. Executive function is a term used to describe cognitive skill development associated with planning, organization, time management, and sustained attention. Issues with executive function often appear in children and adults with ADHD and similar psychological challenges. The software provides professional development, intervention guidelines, and data analytics to institutions and organizations serving children.

The company founders created the Minnesota Executive Function Scale, a direct behavioral assessment of the neurocognitive skills associated with academic achievement. Based on the success demonstrated in their research, Stephanie Carlson, Ph.D and Phil Zelazo, Ph.D. founded Reflection Sciences to bring the MEFS App to preschools, K-12 schools, after-school programs, Head Start programs, and pediatric clinics. Jeffrey Shelstad is the CEO.
